Application of suspension structure of steel structure

Single-layer housing requires the production of rigid rod systems, nodes and rods in addition to transmitting axial forces, but also need to withstand bending moments, which is very different from the frame structure. However, in the case of large force and large span, in order to prevent instability of the surface, a double shell should be made. The double shell is like a mesh frame and is a dumpling connecting rod system. The load-bearing structural system composed of load-bearing structural cables and supporting cable components is called suspension structure. The outstanding advantage of the suspension cable structure is that the cable used only withstands the tension, which can give full play to the performance of high-strength steel, thereby saving steel, reducing the weight of the roof, and effectively covering large-span buildings.

The commonly used suspension steel structures on the roof can be divided into four categories: single-layer suspension, double-layer suspension, transverse stiffening and cable mesh. The structure of the suspension cable structure requires attention to two main problems. One is to improve the roof stiffness, and the other is to effectively transfer the tension of the cable. The method to improve the stiffness of the roof is to use prestress. Tensioning methods for transmission cables include columns and ground anchors, as well as the frames or stands of buildings. The effective method is to make the edge members of the building roof into closed shapes, such as circles, ovals, etc., and balance the tension of the trick in the edge members.
